Kapoo & Sons ( Since 1921 )

Kapoor and Sons is Unadulterated dysfunctional spontaneity at its best... rarely I have seen movies that commercialize socially discomforting subjects so well. Most of the time, the production house would sugar coat and dilute subjects fearing consumer backlash. . However,  Shakun Batra picks up speed right from the word go and kept it's grip to the end. The ensemble is stellar - the writing is kick ass, direction is spot on, music compliments .. two thumbs up

Decisions

Our decisions in life reflects our values. Solutions and suggestions give out insight on what a person can compromise and what their priorities are...

Lost in Translation

I didnt have my camera, would have actually clicked this picture. The recent trip to chennai i spotted a SIGN that said " no free left turns. Wondered what be the "cost" if one actually had to turn left at that signal. Guess it's a classic case english paying the price of translation.
:-)

Rainscrimination

the heavy downpour in the last two days it seems did not add an inch of water to the catchment areas in Pune. what would we call this? irony of life or discrimination.

Making way for life

the site of an ambulance stuck in the post rain traffic was tragic. i hope we as a community become more responsible and give way to "life"

Birds Eye View

During trying times, it helps to take a 10,000 feet approach. zoom out, get a birds eye view of you with others, it squeezes out the emotions attached with the issues.

Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Have you ever thought about how things we depended on in the past suddenly vanish from the face of this earth. One example that came to my mind are "pagers"
Just a few years ago, we couldn't live without them, today they aren't even remembered.

And one very close to my heart are the "Snail Mails" , The RED MAIL boxes, till about a few years back, these boxes were full of mails from near and dear one's. Today there's hardly anything in them, just a few weeks ago while waiting for the traffic to clear i happen to notice a mailman picking just a single solitary letter. Wonder what run through the minds of these men, they served us for ages making sure we get the money orders and wishes on time. Today, technology outplaced them without even their notice.

Introspection...

One of my favorite quotes::

You must constantly ask yourself these questions: Who am I around? What are they doing to me? What have they got me reading? What have they got me saying? Where do they have me going? What do they have me thinking? And most important, what do they have me becoming,Then ask yourself the big question: Is that okay?" .

Creativity

"hey, you need to turn the tap on" someone whispered seeing me wait for the water....embarrased,I looked at the faucet, turned it on washed my hands and stormed out of the rest room.

To all the frustrated Industrial designers ::::PLEASE, use your creativity somewhere else, leave us alone with our comfort zone. I am sick of waving, dodging, smiling at the sensors.
